Meet Dr. Alfy

Dr. Oluseun Olufade or “Dr. Alfy” (as his patients refer to him) is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at Emory School of Medicine. He is board-certified in sports medicine and interventional spine. Dr. Alfy received his undergraduate degree at Rutgers University in New Jersey and went on to attend the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He did his residency and post-graduate training at Temple University Hospital and Keystone Healthcare System in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Alfy practices sports medicine and spine care with a special interest in regenerative medicine and orthobiologics. His approach is focused on the non-surgical treatment of orthopedic injuries, including ultrasound and fluoroscopic-guided procedures and the use of cell-based therapy and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). He treats children, adolescents, and adults, and his patients range from high school students to professional athletes. He is involved in extensive research in regenerative medicine and has presented at numerous regional and national conferences.

Dr. Alfy is currently a physician for several athletic teams and organizations, including U.S. Soccer, Atlanta Hawks, Emory University, and Northview High School. He is also actively involved in the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM), where he serves as chair for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) subcommittee and co-chair for the Diversity Mentoring Program. Dr. Alfy is also a medical review board member for VeryWellHealth.com and is active in national and local media.

Outside the Practice

Dr. Alfy is actively involved in the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM), where he serves as chair for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) subcommittee and co-chair for the Diversity Mentoring Program.

Dr. Alfy is also a medical review board member for VeryWellHealth.com and is active in national and local media.

Outside the field of medicine, Dr. Alfy holds a leadership position in the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. where he serves as a mentor. The aim of the organization is to improve the quality of life within the community and enhance educational and economic opportunities for all African American youths.

Additionally, Dr. Alfy is a member of the editorial board for Acquire’s Journal of Orthopedic Practice, and is a medical review board member for Verywell Health.
